Habitual Habits

Below is a link to the Habitual Habits presentation that Mumu made back in April! It’s been our guide for coming up with ideas for what types of things we’d like to wear as a house. It compiles research images, internet finds, sketches, and even a prototype for our official CORONET! Theres also some fun pictures of logo ideas from their early stages.

I think the best part of how we’ve approached dressing ourselves is that it has been so eclectic and truly expressive of the sibling inside all of us (burrrp). We have our “beginner coronets” also and everyone of us has really enjoyed decorating them and covering them with little glimmers that make our souls giddy. We’ve also donned white lace collars on the regular, both as a nod to the crafty nature of the area, but also as to honor the late Ruth Bader-Ginsburg. Constantly festive seems to be our favorite theme! I think we’re all looking constantly for new ways to express ourselves and can’t wait to take it all to the next level!

In December were going to start building and workshopping our coronets together! Right now it is intended to represent The Heart of Appalachia, the spirit of the Tri-cities that calls out to us and embraces that core of love inside all of us and pushes us to express it while simultaneously wrapping us in the protection of majestic hills. What resides in the valley of its embrace is different for everyone, a field of spring flowers, a golden sunset, a crown of crystal butterflies, or the eyes of the spirits that dwell in these hills. You know, a pretty fun hat! Other Projects we want to build are scapulars in all of the colors of the rainbow, so that when we march together we can bring the colors of our community with us. We’d also like to create a new and unique collar for our house that incorporates the lacey RBG collars with a house specific shape and color combo.
